Penny has turned out to be the perfect little sensible poodle. While her owner initially had plans for the conformation ring, the realities of maintaining a show coat in Northern Alberta made a manageable haircut a much more practical choice for now. Thankfully, a shorter coat hasn't slowed her down one bit!

Penny was the first puppy in the litter to figure out tricks, showing off her smarts and willingness to learn at just six weeks old. Very handler-focused, Penny absolutely loves to learn, is always up for trying something new and genuinely enjoys working with her person. She's the kind of dog who wants that connection and partnership, making her a particularly exciting prospect for performance.

Penny is now enjoying time on the agility field with her Auntie Ariat and is looking forward to following in her footsteps as she starts her own agility adventures in 2026, and hopefully makes her way back into the conformation ring in 2027.

Sweet, kind and always happy to cuddle, Penny is a bit of a different creature than her sister Laney. We joke that Laney is a big Miniature in temperament, while Penny is the little Standard. She's sensible, adaptable and genuinely at home wherever life takes her. Dogs and people alike are instant friends but she wont be overwhelming like her sister, and Penny has a wonderful knack for simply settling in and enjoying whatever she and her human happen to be doing.

Penny was also quick to earn her NTD title at just three months old, and we're looking forward to seeing what else she gets up to as she grows into her next adventures.

Penny lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta, with her wonderful humans.
